Dear Friends,
I came across a new song during my time off a couple of weeks ago called ‘Hallelujah, even here’. Hallelujah means ‘God be Praised!’. It is such a beautiful song about choosing to worship God even in the face of the battles we face . It’s about choosing still to say ‘Hallelujah’ when we don’t feel like it, when we’re worried, when we’re fearful - ‘Hallelujah, even when I’m down’. I know that I have found this a powerful reminder. Praising God in the hard times doesn’t minimize or deny heaviness of heart. Instead, it redirects our focus on who God is. He never changes. He promised never to leave or abandon his children, so we can count on his presence, even when our emotions can’t confirm it. He is near to the brokenhearted.

Hallelujah, when the battle is endless
In the middle of the in between
In the middle of the questioning
Over every worry, every fear
Hallelujah, even here
There are many of us who are facing trials in our lives at the moment. Perhaps this song and these words may encourage us all to continue trusting in God. Of course, if there is anything either myself or the churches can do to help or support you, then we’re here for you as well.
