Children, Kids and Families

We believe that God put the wiggle in children and we should let them wiggle! Children have a special part to play in the life of our churches.

children of all ages are incredibly welcome at all of our services and they can make as much noise as they would like!

All three of our churches have activities particularly welcoming for families and children. We offer family services, breakfast church, bacon butty sundays, all with the idea of welcoming families to be part of the church family. This helps us all to grow closer to one another and to Jesus. We believe that children are not just the future of the church, but are an important part of the church today which is why our services aim to be safe and engaging spaces for all Gods children to learn about Jesus. Have a look at the ‘Whats on’ page to find out when these are next on.

Since the pandemic all of our formal Sunday School groups have closed, but we’re looking and thinking creatively about what we might be able to offer as we seek to rebuild and restart. If you are interested in sunday school activities for your child or children please do get in touch with Rev Grant to discuss what we may be able to

The church in school:

We’re also passionate about supporting our local children’s education here in West Berks. One of the ways we do this is by working closely with Basildon Primary School (CofE). Members of the church regularly visit and lead collective worship services on a weekly basis, we offer to hear and assist children with core skills such as reading and we stand as foundation governors for the school. Further to this we support the school financially with items or projects needed at a given time. Special services are held in the church each term at significant points in the Christian Calendar and they are a huge highlight for us. It is a privilege to partner with a wonderful school and share in their journey together.
