Thank you to all who supported Basildon Open Gardens in any way, the net profit to be shared between St Stephens and the Village Hall, is about £1200. I heard that there was a fantastic atmosphere and everyone enjoyed seeing so many people walking around the village! Someone commented “It went brilliantly with hundreds coming round the village for Open Gardens from Wantage, Tilehurst, Pangbourne as well as the village”.

FOOTSTEPS fundraising at Coromandel also went very well. Susan Twitchett says “We raised £2200 and rising as some people have sent donations to Footsteps directly. An excellent result.
Thank you so much for your support of this excellent charity”.
This amount is in addition to the amount raised by Open Gardens generally.

Prayer & Praise

As we are on holiday I don’t have any ‘AfterWords’ to send you, but I’d like to share this prayer, as students start/go back to University. We can pray this for anyone in, or going into, a new situation - children and adults alike!

O God, the strength of my life,
make known your will for me in this place:
help me to discover friends among strangers,
to meet opportunities and challenges eagerly,
and to do my daily tasks in your name.
Give me strength to overcome my worries,
and preserve me in your safe keeping,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
